Nemanja Komar has a diverse range of work experiences spanning over several years. Nemanja currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer at Kairos Aerospace, where they started in January 2022. Prior to this, they worked at The Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii as a Scientific Programmer from May 2018 to January 2022, where they developed software and provided programming support for the University of Hawaii Sea Level Center.
Before that, Nemanja worked at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in various roles. Nemanja was a Postdoctoral Researcher from January 2018 to May 2018, conducting research on nutrient cycling during past climate events. Nemanja also served as a Student Web Developer from January 2017 to December 2017, maintaining and improving The Endangered Languages Project website. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant from August 2008 to December 2017, developing numerical models and analyzing data.
During their time at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Nemanja also took on the role of Men's Volleyball Team Manager from August 2008 to May 2009, where they recorded team statistics, organized practice drills, and assisted with video editing and recruitment. Nemanja started their career at the university as an Assistant Data Processing Coordinator from September 2006 to May 2009.
Nemanja Komar's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science in 2009. Nemanja continued their academic pursuits at the same university, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Oceanography, Geochemical from 2010 to 2012. Nemanja then pursued a PhD in Geochemical Oceanography at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2012 to 2017.
In 2016, Nemanja attended freeCodeCamp, where they obtained a Full Stack Web Development Certification in Computer Software Engineering. Additionally, in 2019, they obtained certifications in "Introduction to Data Science in Python" and "Applied Machine Learning in Python" from Coursera.
