Chandra Buchanan

Chandra Buchanan, HEM, CEAS III, is an experienced safety operations leader currently serving as the Safety Operations Practice Leader and Safety Specialist at Kaiser Permanente since June 2008. In this role, Chandra has successfully redesigned and implemented key safety programs, including Environmental Surveillance Rounds and Chemical Spill Response, while providing expertise in hazard identification, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance. Previous experience includes positions as Gourmet Head at Cost Plus World Market and Safety Coordinator at Costco Wholesale, where Chandra conducted safety audits, managed workers' compensation documentation, and led safety training initiatives. Chandra holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from San Francisco State University and an A.S. in Environmental Technology from Las Positas College.
