Nicola Holmes

Nicola Holmes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Nicola currently works as a Principal Data Scientist at KAITO Insight Oy, where they drive technical expertise and provides expert advice in Data Science, MLOps, and ML-related systems engineering. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Data Scientist at the same company, contributing custom Data Science solutions and expertise to improve understanding of Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics. Nicola also has experience as a Data Scientist at BDS Bynfo Oy, where they provided industry-specific predictive systems using Machine Learning and Mechatronics Engineering principles. In addition, Nicola has worked as a Freelancer/Self-Employed, providing software development, computer vision, and data science consultation to small businesses. Nicola has also held positions at Versoteq 3D Solutions, the Defence Materiel Organisation in Australia, Unisys Australia, and LifeTec Queensland, contributing to software development, engineering, and technical support roles in these organizations.

Nicola Holmes received a Bachelor of Creative Industries degree in Visual and Performing Arts from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in 2004. Nicola then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) (Hons) degree with an Extended Major in Mechatronics from The University of Queensland from 2008 to 2011. Later, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science, specializing in Algorithms & Machine Learning, from the University of Helsinki from 2013 to 2018.
