Karim Foda

Karim Foda has worked in the fields of NLP, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Software Engineering since 2012. Karim began their career as a Data Analyst at Brooke Hospital for Animals in 2012. In 2013, they moved to Microsoft as a Software Engineer. Karim then worked at Lloyds Banking Group from 2014 to 2020, taking on roles as an NLP Engineer, Data Scientist, and Data Engineer. In 2020, they joined Toptal as an NLP Engineer, where they built a BERT-based NER model and a ROBERTA-based multiple class classification model. In 2021, they joined Kaizan as a Lead NLP Researcher and Grata as a Machine Learning NLP Engineer, where they custom-built a question-answering dataset and fine-tuned a t5 model to generate descriptions of companies.

Karim Foda's education history includes a Masters in Finance (MiF) from London Business School (2016-2018), a Masters in Research - MRes from Birkbeck, University of London (2019-2021), a Master of Engineering (MEng) from Durham University (2010-2014), and a High School Diploma from Modern English School (1997-2014).
