Michael Heber

Michael Heber has extensive work experience in the field of network systems engineering and cybersecurity. Michael currently holds the position of Senior Network Systems Engineer at Kaizen Approach, Inc. starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Security Analyst at Asymmetrik from October 2019 to July 2022.

From 2013 to 2019, Michael held various roles at KeyW Corporation. Michael served as a Senior Network Engineer and Instructor, where they taught cyber security topics to military and civilian government employees. Michael was also responsible for designing and maintaining the laboratory environment used by students. Additionally, they served as a Senior Network Security Engineer, performing data analysis, risk assessments, and presenting recommendations to senior client representatives.

Before joining KeyW Corporation, Michael worked as a Senior Security Analyst at Information Security Solutions LLC from February 2012 to July 2013. Their responsibilities included conducting digital network intelligence analysis and producing visual maps of TCP/IP backbone networks.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as an Associate from August 2004 to February 2012. Michael gained extensive experience in computer network exploitation and digital network intelligence analysis.

Prior to that, they worked at Computer Sciences Corporation as a Principal Engineer from November 1997 to August 2004. Michael played key roles in technical leadership, project management, and network development and deployment.

Michael began their career at the University of Maryland Baltimore County as a DP Systems Programmer Level I from April 1993 to November 1997. Michael also worked as a Sales Associate at Egghead Discount Software from 1989 to 1993.

Michael Heber attended the University of Maryland from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology. In addition to their education, they also obtained a certification as a Certified Nessus User from Tenable Network Security in August 2014.
