David Fankhauser

David Fankhauser has extensive work experience in the field of visual computing and artificial intelligence. David currently holds the position of Engineering Director at Canva since July 2021. Prior to that, they co-founded Kaleido AI in 2017 and served as the Chief Technology Officer, focusing on developing visual AI technologies. Before that, they worked as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at CogVis GmbH from 2014 to 2018, where they researched and developed cutting-edge visual computing solutions using machine learning and AI. Additionally, David worked as a Tutor at Vienna University of Technology in 2013, teaching courses on visual computing and programming practice. David also gained experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer at RISE GmbH in 2012.

David Fankhauser has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Visual Computing from the Vienna University of Technology, which they obtained from 2014 to 2017. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Media Informatics and Visual Computing from the same university, completing their studies from 2010 to 2014.
