Cristian E. Toma

Cristian E. Toma is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of engineering, algorithm development, and leadership within various technology companies. As the Founder, Chief Scientific Officer, and Board Director of Kalera since July 2013, Cristian has been instrumental in driving the company's vision and strategy. Prior roles include serving as a Staff Scientist at BD, where Cristian developed algorithms for clinical diagnostics, and as Lead Scientist at both Speckodyne Corp. and Medeikon Corp., focusing on innovative photonic sensors and interventional cardiology instruments, respectively. Cristian also held the position of Director of Engineering at Graphco Technologies, overseeing biometric systems development. Academic credentials include a PhD and MS in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, along with a PDEng in Software Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology.
