Quentin Muller

AI & Embedded App Engineer at Kalray

Quentin Muller has a diverse work experience that spans over many years.

Their most recent role was as an Embedded/AI Application Engineer at Kalray, a leading provider of hardware and software technologies. In this role, Quentin provided optimized inference solutions for convolutional neural networks, real-time and embedded use cases. Quentin worked on optimization for computer vision algorithms, benchmarking AI applications, and developing graph optimization using Tensorflow, PyTorch, and ONNX. Quentin also provided technical customer solutions and support and conducted trainings on Kalray Neural Network framework.

Before joining Kalray, Quentin worked at STMicroelectronics, where they held two roles. As a Validation Leader - Imaging, they led the functional validation for image and 3D-IToF sensors dedicated to mobile and embedded applications. Quentin was responsible for test development, SW tools development, documentation workflow, test campaign strategy, and validation plan definition. In their role as an Application Development Engineer - Imaging, Quentin developed tests on image sensors for automotive and mobile applications. Quentin focused on test flow, test automation, and test campaigns management.

Prior to STMicroelectronics, Quentin had an internship at Kalray as a Validation Software Engineer, where they focused on improving tests and validation for continuous integration. Quentin worked on developing an interactive platform, test and validation engineering, and worked in an agile context.

Quentin also has experience working as an FPGA/SW Engineer at Laboratoire TIMA, where they worked on FPGA and software development.

Additionally, Quentin has a background in military service. Quentin served as an Officier Traitant and later as a Commandant de Compagnie in the Ministère des Armées. In these roles, Quentin was responsible for managing and organizing combat units, coordinating logistical support, and ensuring operational readiness. Quentin also served as an Officier Adjoint au Commandant d'Unité, where they were responsible for the management of unit equipment.

Quentin started their career at Bossa Nova Technologies, where they worked as an engineer and project leader. Quentin was involved in research and development projects focused on laser ultrasonics and photo-detectors.

Earlier in their career, Quentin had an apprenticeship at Bossa Nova Technologies, where they worked on the design, development, and fabrication of high-frequency photo-detectors.

Quentin's early experience includes a research internship at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique, where they worked on the development of a test and digital acquisition system for microfluidic systems.

Overall, Quentin Muller has a diverse and extensive work experience in various domains, including hardware and software development, validation, imaging, AI, and military service.

Quentin Muller has a diverse education history. Quentin completed their Diplôme d'ingénieur in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, and Computer Science from CPE Lyon, from 2004 to 2008. Quentin also pursued a Master's degree in Microelectronics and Real-Time Embedded Systems at Université Grenoble Alpes, from 2017 to 2018.

In 2007 to 2008, Quentin Muller pursued another Master's degree at Polytechnique Montréal, specializing in Analog Electronics, Embedded Systems, and Microelectronics. Prior to that, they obtained a Diplôme universitaire technologique in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computer Science with a focus on Electronics from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, between 2002 and 2004.

Quentin Muller also has a background in the military. Quentin completed the Formation Initiale des Officiers de l'armée de Terre at Ecole Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr from 2009 to 2010. Furthermore, they attended the Ecole Militaire de Haute Montagne in 2013 to 2014, where they obtained the qualification of Chef de détachement Haute Montagne, focusing on mountain risks and constrained terrains. Additionally, they completed training as a Chef de section at the Ecole Militaire de Draguignan - Ecole de l'Infanterie in 2010 to 2011, specializing in motorized infantry, with a focus on mountain infantry.

In terms of certifications, Quentin Muller has attained several through Coursera. Quentin obtained certifications in Convolutional Neural Networks in TensorFlow, Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow, Sequences, Time Series and Prediction, and a Specialization in DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer, all in June 2021.
