Kalundborg Refinery
Morten Thomsen has extensive experience in health, safety, and environmental management within the refinery sector, currently serving as Project Leader Health, Safety and Environment and Manager Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality at Kalundborg Refinery since January 2022. Previously, Morten held the position of Leader Safety and Sustainability at Equinor from May 2018 to January 2022, and before that at Statoil from May 2008 to May 2018, managing safety and sustainability efforts for the Statoil refinery in Kalundborg throughout both tenures. Morten's earlier roles at Statoil included various leadership positions in operational support, maintenance planning, production optimization, and engineering, contributing to significant improvements in operational availability and planning success rates. Morten holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Ingeniørhøjskolen Odense Teknikum and a Matematisk Studentereksamen from Varde Gymnasium.

We are Kalundborg Refinery, a Danish energy company, with more than 350 engaged employees. We are the largest oil refinery in Denmark processing approximately 5.5 million tonnes of crude oil, condensate and feedstock per year and has a tank capacity of 1.2 million m3. The refinery produces naphtha, petrol, diesel, fuel oil and heavy fuel. Our primary markets are Denmark and Scandinavia.
