Derek Hunter

Derek Hunter has extensive work experience in the field of quality assurance. Derek currently holds the position of Executive Director, QA at KalVista Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to this role, they served as Senior Director of Quality Assurance at the same company.

Before joining KalVista Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Derek worked as the Director of Quality Assurance at Cmed Clinical Services from 2018 to 2021. Derek also held various positions at Chiltern, including Associate Director of QA Auditing, Senior Manager of QA Auditing, Manager of EU Auditing, and Senior QA Auditor, from 2013 to 2018.

Derek's early career experiences include serving as the National IS/IT Quality Assurance Manager at Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) and as a Scientific Manager at Inveresk/Charles River. Derek started their professional journey as a Scientist at AstraZeneca and Quintiles.

Derek Hunter obtained a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Pharmacology from The University of Edinburgh, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. In August 2011, they also obtained a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA.
