Russell Towlson

Russell Towlson has over 25 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Russell began their career as a Factory Manager at Rank Hovis McDougall, Charnwood Foods Ltd., where they were responsible for engineering, HR, manufacturing, packing, and distribution. Russell then moved on to become a Site Manufacturing Manager at Rank Hovis McDougall, Centura Foods, overseeing a 24/7 manufacturing and packing operation.

Towlson also served as an Operations Manager at Indesit Company, leading a manufacturing facility producing white goods. Russell later became a Plant Manager at GRUMA, where they managed a culturally diverse site manufacturing bakery and snack food products. Russell then joined Welcome Furniture Ltd. as an Operations Manager, reporting directly to the board of Directors.

In the public sector, Towlson held positions at UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the Department for International Trade (DIT). At UKTI, they worked as a Trade Director and Deputy Director, supporting small and medium businesses in export services. At DIT, they served as the Director of the Trade Services Team, providing assistance to British businesses aspiring to export goods and services, with a focus on the Polish market.

Most recently, Towlson worked at De Montfort University as the Global Alumni Engagement Manager, leading engagement efforts with alumni and their businesses on a multi-channel basis. Russell also worked as an International Development & Alumni Engagement Officer, facilitating international engagement with alumni and businesses.

Towlson's current role is as the Head of Production & Supply Chain at Kanes Foods Ltd, where they are responsible for overseeing production and supply chain operations.

Throughout their career, Towlson has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including business development, international engagement, export consultancy, and operational management.

Russell Towlson attended Longslade Upper School and Stonehill High School, although the specific years of attendance are unknown. Russell later enrolled at the University of Warwick, specifically the Warwick Business School, where they pursued a degree in Business. Russell completed the RHM DSMP program at the university.
