Melissa Carle has a diverse work experience in the library field. Melissa began their career at the Manhattan-Elwood Public Library District in 2004 as a Circulation Manager, where they were responsible for overseeing and managing a departmental staff. In this role, they collaborated with the Library Director to train employees and improve organizational efficiencies. In 2010, they joined the Kansas City Public Library as a Weekend Reference Supervisor, leading a team of six in providing excellent patron service and managing basic operations. Melissa then transitioned to the role of KC-LSP (ILS) Support Specialist, where they served as a trainer and coordinator for the library's Integrated Library System database. In 2014, they were promoted to Library Systems Manager, where they restructured the Library's internal statistical keeping and managed a 3-person team.
