Cecily S. has a diverse range of work experience. Cecily started their career in the culinary industry, working as an Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager at various restaurants in Indianapolis. After exploring their love for programming as a freelancer, they transitioned into the field of software development and engineering.

Their experience includes roles such as a Software Engineer at Paula's Choice Skincare, where they refactored components of the legacy system. At LexisNexis Risk Solutions, they developed an encapsulation and API solution for a large government entity. Cecily also worked at 360 View, where they revived and redesigned a CRM/CTI software solution for a bank.

Cecily joined National Seating & Mobility as a Software Developer to modernize their Automated Benefits and Eligibility check. At FortyAU, they transformed sections of a monolith into a service-focused solution and developed a UI Component library in React. Cecily then moved on to StrategyCorps as a Senior Software Developer, leading an integration project with a major credit reporting agency and participating in a React rewrite of a legacy merchant tool.

Their most recent position is at Kanso Software (HDS Doorways), where they serve as a Software Architect. Here, they are leading a data overhaul, redesigning domain models, and managing a team of 10 developers.

Throughout their career, Cecily has continuously expanded their skillset and knowledge in software architecture and engineering.

Cecily S. completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Software Development from WGU Washington between 2016 and 2020. Before that, in 2015, they attended Coder Camps, specializing in the Microsoft stack, including C#, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, and AngularJS. From 2007 to 2011, they attended Indiana University Bloomington, where they took courses in English and Psychology without obtaining a degree. In addition to their formal education, Cecily has obtained several certifications, including Azure Database Administrator from Microsoft in December 2020, CompTIA A+ in December 2020, CompTIA Project+ in July 2018, User Interface Designer from Certification Partners (CIW) in June 2018, Advanced HTML5 & CSS3 Specialist from Certification Partners (CIW) in December 2017, and Microsoft Certified Professional: Software Development in May 2016.
