Mats Finsås

Mats Finsås has a diverse work experience in various industries. Mats started their career in 2014 at Carpoint Norge AS as an IT Support specialist. From 2015 to 2019, they worked for the Norwegian Armed Forces, initially as an IT Support Technician, then as an Information Security Consultant, and later as a System Administrator for Fighter Aircraft.

In 2019, Mats joined the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency as an IT Consultant for Fighter Aircraft, where they provided advisory services on subsystems and operated legacy high-security IT systems. Mats also worked as a Consultant for the F-16 sale and disposal project.

During their time at NTNUI, Mats held multiple roles including Interim Chief Information Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Product Owner/Software Developer. As CIO, they collaborated with sports groups, in-house developers, and partners to develop technology solutions for the organization. Mats led the implementation of a digital membership certificate system adopted by all members.

Mats also served as a Student Representative for the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Mats facilitated communication between the department, student associations, and other organizations, representing student interests to the governing body.

In 2023, Mats joined Kantega as a Software Developer.

Mats Finsås started their education in 2011 at Charlottenlund Upper Secondary School, where they obtained a General University Admissions Certification in science studies with IT and Russian. Mats then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Informatics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2019 to 2022. Following that, Mats continued their studies at NTNU and obtained a Master of Science degree in Informatics/Software Engineering from 2022 to 2024. In addition to their academic qualifications, Mats obtained a certification as a Klatreinstruktør inne (Indoor Climbing Instructor) from Norges klatreforbund in August 2020.
