Nicolai Schaaf

Nicolai Schaaf is an experienced sustainability manager currently working at Kanthal since June 2023. Previously, Nicolai held various senior roles at the Stockholm International Water Institute from October 2013 to June 2023, including Senior Manager and Team Leader for Water and Pharmaceuticals, as well as Programme Manager and Programme Officer for the Swedish Water House. Prior to that, Nicolai served as a Policy Advisor for Biodiversity with The Greens in the German Parliament from May 2010 to September 2013, and as a Policy Officer for Climate Change and Biodiversity at NABU e.V. from November 2006 to April 2010. Educational credentials include a Diplom in Biological Oceanography, Ecophysiology, and Applied System Ecology from Kiel University, along with studies at notable research institutions including the Alfred-Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research and the Marine Research Station in Aqaba, Jordan.
