Carmen Perkins

Special Projects & Operations Consultant at Kapor Center for Social Impact

Carmen Perkins is the Special Projects & Operations Consultant, she supports the COO and the broader team to operationalize strategic initiatives across a number of high priority, cross-functional projects. She is an Oakland native and a graduate of Holy Names University with a BA in English and an MBA in Management & Leadership. Carmen has over 20 years of operations experience in education, education technology and startups. She is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor whose goals are to create circular ecosystems for leaders in the African diaspora. She has been a founding member in several start-ups including Earn & Learn, where she was the Founding Chief Operations Officer and led the day-to-day operations regarding service delivery, product development and services for a proprietary CRM she co-built named ELENA. Outside of the office, Carmen enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, taking nature walks, reading and playing board games.
