Daniel Lupu

Director Clinical Development at Karius

Daniel Lupu has a diverse work experience in the medical and research fields. Currently, they are employed at Karius as the Director of Clinical Development. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing clinical utility and validity studies for infectious diseases and disease progression. Daniel also leads data analysis and interpretation for the PICKUP study. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at AdventHealth Central Florida, where they collaborated with pharmaceutical partners and served as a Principal Investigator for national studies. Additionally, they worked as a Clinical Genomics Variant Scientist at LabCorp. Daniel began their career as a Resident Physician at Campina Municipal Hospital and later worked as a Graduate Researcher and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of North Carolina.

Daniel Lupu has a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universitatea Transilvania din Brașov in the field of Medicine. Daniel also holds a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in Nutritional Biochemistry. In addition, they have obtained certifications such as USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2CK from ECFMG.
