Christie Spadafora

Christie Spadafora, MS has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the medical and educational fields. Christie is currently working as the Director of Medical Affairs Training and Development at Karuna Therapeutics since October 2022. Prior to this, they held positions at North Shore Community College and Quincy College as a Natural Sciences Adjunct Faculty member, starting in 2015 and 2013 respectively, without any specified end dates.

In 2019, Christie joined Novartis Gene Therapies (formerly AveXis) as the Associate Director of Regional Medical Affairs Training, specializing in Gene Therapy and Rare Disease. Christie was later promoted to Director of Global Medical Affairs Training in May 2021 until their departure in October 2022.

Christie also worked at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals as the Global Medical Affairs Training Lead for Rare Disease from October 2018 to August 2019, and at Bioverativ, a Sanofi company, as the Medical Affairs Training Lead for Rare Disease from August 2017 to October 2018.

Christie also has experience in the educational sector, teaching as a Science Faculty member at Austin Preparatory School from September 2014 to August 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Eli Lilly and Company as a Sales Representative from April 2011 to June 2013, and at AstraZeneca as an Associate Scientist and later as a Senior Associate Scientist from September 2006 to April 2011.

Christie started their professional career as an Infectious Diseases Research Intern at Novartis in June 2006. Overall, their work experience showcases their expertise in medical affairs training, rare diseases, gene therapy, pharmaceutical sales, and scientific research.

Christie Spadafora, MS has an extensive education history in the field of biology. In 2006, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College with a impressive GPA of 3.73/4.00, graduating cum laude. Later, in 2007, they pursued a Certificate of Biotechnology from Tufts University, achieving a perfect GPA of 4.0/4.0. Building on their accomplishments, Christie pursued further education at Tufts University and obtained a Master of Science degree in Biology in 2008, maintaining an outstanding GPA of 3.95/4.00.

In addition to their biology studies, Christie has also displayed an interest in business. Currently, they are working towards a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2023.

To complement their education and expand their knowledge, Christie pursued the HMX Fundamentals Certificate Programs at Harvard University in 2022, demonstrating their commitment to continuing education.
