Colten Appleby has a diverse range of work experience. Colten started their professional career at Stamford Yacht Club as a Lifeguard from August 2013 to September 2015. Colten then became an EMT-B, Ambulance Driver, and Adult Advisor at Darien EMS - Post 53 from November 2010 to October 2015.

In 2013, Colten co-founded and managed Non-Stop Donut Shop, a start-up mobile donut shop, where they handled various responsibilities such as finding events, ordering supplies, managing staff, accounting, and sales. Colten worked there until November 2015.

From June 2015 to January 2016, Colten worked as an Analyst Intern at Appleby Capital, where they supported a Senior Banker in M&A and Capital Raising projects. Colten'stasks included researching potential acquisition candidates and clients, data analysis, Excel modeling, and attending meetings and negotiations.

In 2016, Colten joined Consigli Construction Co., Inc. as an Engineering Project Manager. Colten contributed to the management of a $50 million project at Sacred Heart University, collaborating with testing agencies, negotiating with subcontractors, and ensuring project progress. Colten worked there from May 2016 to August 2016.

From May 2017 to June 2018, Colten worked as a Construction Technology Specialist at WeWork. Colten wrote international construction standards for the company's Construction 2.0 initiatives and assisted the Global Head of Construction on incorporating technology into the construction process.

Colten continued their journey at WeWork as a Construction Technology Associate from July 2018 to February 2020. In this role, they built python regression models to forecast material costs, formed the Construction Technology Studio, and served as a Construction Manager for a $25 million curtainwall facility in New Jersey.

As an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Implementation Project Manager at WeWork from February 2020 to January 2021, Colten coordinated the implementation of a $1M SAP Business ByDesign ERP system for all areas of the pre-fabrication curtainwall facility. Colten also modeled supply chain projections and logistics analytics for WeWork's North American projects.

In February 2021, Colten became a Software Engineering Student at Flatiron School, completing a three-month full-time immersive software engineering bootcamp. The program covered various programming concepts and languages such as JavaScript, React, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, SQL, PostgreSQL, Git, HTML, and CSS.

Immediately after finishing the bootcamp, Colten joined WR Liggett LLC as a Technology Solutions Consultant in January 2021. In this role, they worked with clients to create and improve processes, implemented SAP Business ByDesign ERP system, and facilitated organizational change management.

Most recently, Colten began working at KatalystDI in November 2021 as a Junior Integration Engineer.

Colten Appleby completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 2014 to 2018. In 2021, Colten attended Flatiron School for a course in Software Engineering. Prior to their college education, Colten attended Darien High School from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Colten has obtained several certifications. They received a Data Visualization certification from freeCodeCamp in November 2022. In June 2021, they obtained a Flatiron Software Engineering Bootcamp certification from Flatiron School. Colten also holds an edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Computational Thinking and Data Science, which they obtained in December 2020. Lastly, they earned a Palantir Certified Foundry Data Engineer Professional certification from Palantir Technologies in December 2022.
