Sulatha Dwarakanath, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades in the field of diagnostics and healthcare. Sulatha is the Founder & CEO of KAYA17, a near patient diagnostics company focused on Women's Health. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager at Roche and Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they led teams and managed projects. Sulatha also served as the Product Team Manager at IntegenX, Inc., which was later acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Dr. Dwarakanath has a background in biotechnology and has held various roles at Austin Community College, where they served as the Director of Biotechnology at the AC2 Institute. In this role, they led CRO projects, procured and ran grant-based programs, and played a key role in the development and validation of spinal implants.

Additionally, they have experience as the Founder and Product Lead at Nano Science Diagnostics, Inc., where they developed innovative assays using proprietary Fluorescent Nano beads. Sulatha collaborated with various food companies for food safety testing and was involved in the development of a Point of Care Testing (POCT) device for infectious diseases.

Early in their career, Dr. Dwarakanath worked as a Medical Diagnostics Consulting Specialist, where they provided expertise in nanocrystal technology, analyzed new technologies in diagnostics, and demonstrated feasibility for handheld thermocyclers. Sulatha also worked as a Senior Scientist at Siemens Healthineers (previously Bayer Diagnostics), where they contributed to the development of immunoassays for STD testing and automated nucleic acid diagnostics for infectious diseases and oncology.

Sulatha Dwarakanath, Ph.D, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from New York University, which they attended between 1992 and 1997. Prior to this, they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc) in Biology at Bangalore University from 1987 to 1989. Sulatha's educational journey began with their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Biology and Chemistry, which they earned from National College between 1984 and 1987.
