Derek Young

Derek Young currently serves as the Senior Director of Operations at KAYAK, a position held since February 2024, and previously held the role of Principal Software Architect at Ab Initio Software from March 2020 to February 2024. Young has extensive experience at KAYAK from February 2004 to June 2018, where the titles of SVP, Chief Architect, VP, Chief Architect, and Principal Software Architect were held. Prior to KAYAK, Young worked as a Principal Engineer at MetraTech from January 1998 to February 2004, and as a Senior Software Engineer at Bidder's Edge from May 1997 to January 1998. Early career experience includes a role as a Software Engineer at NetCentric from May 1996 to May 1997. Derek Young earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University between 1993 and 1998.
