Yerzhan Ospanov

Yerzhan Ospanov has a diverse work experience in the metallurgy industry. Yerzhan started their career with Kazakhmys PLC in 2006, where they served as Chief Executive on Development of Metallurgy, overseeing smelting business units and providing guidance on the development of the Metallurgical Complex. Yerzhan then became the General Director of Balkhash Mining and Metallurgy Combine. In 2017, they worked as a Technical Director at Kazakhmys Corp LLC. From 2013 to 2019, Ospanov held various roles at Kazakhmys Corporation LLC, including Technogenic Materials Complex Processing Department Head, where they managed the development and implementation of new production processes. In 2019, they joined Kazakhmys Corp LLC as Director of Complex Technology Development and Investment Management, and later became the Director of Complex Technologies Development and Investment Planning Division. Their current position is Director for Strategic Development of Metallurgy at Kazakhmys Holding LLC, which they started in 2021.

Yerzhan Ospanov has a strong educational background in various fields. Yerzhan started their education journey in 1979 at the KAZAKH STATE POLYTECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, where they obtained a degree in Metallurgy of non-ferrous metals in 1984. Continuing their academic pursuits, they attended the KAZAKH STATE ECONOMICAL UNIVERSITY from 1988 to 1993, earning an economist degree with a focus on Economics and Planning of Industry. Later on, Yerzhan pursued higher education at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation from 2007 to 2009, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Management and Marketing.
