Patrick Hankins has a strong background in chemistry and research. Patrick began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of South Carolina in 2006, where they also worked as a Chemistry Lab Teaching Assistant from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, they became a Fremdsprachenassistent (English Foreign Language Assistant Teacher) at the Otto-Brenner-Schule in Hannover, Germany, where they assisted with English and chemistry instruction at both a high school and vocational school level. From 2010 to 2017, they worked as a Predoctoral Researcher in Chemistry at Northwestern University and served as a Teaching Assistant for General Chemistry Lecture and Organic Chemistry Lab. Patrick then joined KBI Biopharma in 2018 as a Scientist I in the Analytical, Formulation & Stability department, and subsequently held roles of increasing responsibility, becoming a Scientist II and eventually Group Lead for the Analytical and Formulation Sciences (AFS) team.

Patrick Hankins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina from 2005 to 2009. Patrick also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in German during the same period. Later, from 2010 to 2017, they attended Northwestern University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry.
