James K. Fay has held a variety of roles in the technology and business fields over the past decade. From 2009 to 2013, they were a Project Manager and Program Administrator at Information Technology Services at Appalachian State University. In 2010, they became President and Strategic Marketing Consultant at Flying Rooster Agency. In 2013, they were a Business Strategy Consultant at SBTDC. In 2014, they were an Operations Advisor at Parkdale Mills, Inc. and from 2015 to present, they have been Vice President of Product Development at Keen Decision Systems, where they are responsible for developing team structures that support the business' executional product strategy, as well as participating in regular budgeting and forecasting exercises to ensure strategy and structure are continuously reconciled to Keen's financial objectives. James K. has also held roles as Director of Product Development, Product Manager, Manager of Strategy, and Business Analyst/Consultant.
James K. Fay obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Economics and Marketing from Appalachian State University between 2005 and 2009. James K. then pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Management at Appalachian State University between 2010 and 2013. During 2011, they studied at the University of Havana in the Center for Study of the Cuban Economy. In addition, they have obtained various certifications, including a Product-led Certification from Mind the Product in 2023, Building the Product and Working with Stakeholders from LinkedIn in 2019, Project Management: Technical Projects from LinkedIn in 2019, Product Management First Steps from LinkedIn in 2018, Project Management Professional (PMP)® from Project Management Institute in 2017, Lean 100 from NC State University in 2015, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Course from Parkdale Mills, Inc. in 2015.
