Job Summary

The Staff Accountant I handles a variety of accounting and reporting duties, focusing on general and cost accounting. This role includes making financial reports, looking over financial data, and helping with the month-end closing process. The Staff Accountant also supports the accounting management team with various tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Handles monthly closing for Canada subsidiary, including accruals and ad hoc entries.
  • Prepares account reconciliations, journal entries and tax filings.
  • Inventory accounts payable for the Canada region.
  • Assists with maintenance and submission of documentation for compliance and tax filings.
  • Reconciles daily and monthly cash.
  • Identifies and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Supports junior team members by offering training, answering questions, and proactively sharing best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting or finance.
  • One (1) year of relevant accounting experience required.
  • Experience working in SAP or other complex ERP systems preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to reporting deadlines.
  • Successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to engage in creative problem solving and effectively manage change.

Travel Required: No

Base Salary: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 yearly
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
