Scott Kushino

Scott joined the Board of Keiro Northwest in December 2021. He’s passionate about preserving Keiro’s focus on respect for elders, and promoting Keiro’s history of service to underserved communities in Seattle. Scott serves as chair of the Governance and Nominating committee, and also serves as a member of the Community Engagement and Outreach committee, and Strategic Planning committee.

Scott’s background includes service with for-profit and not for-profit organizations, in private sector, community, military, and government institutions. He enjoys working with entrepreneurs in the technology industry, was an early hire at McCaw Cellular and a founding member at VoiceStream Wireless. Scott worked for Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, where he was responsible for managing Vulcan’s telecommunications investment portfolio, and promoted US government policy overseas with USAID. Scott was commissioned as a US Navy officer prior to his business career.

Scott serves on the Board of IntelliSpeX and served on the Boards of Sharewave and Broadstorm Communications. He volunteers as a mentor and judge at the University of Washington Buerk School of Entrepreneurship. Scott has a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and a MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Scott is third generation Japanese American and has lived in Seattle over 25 years. He and his wife care for his mother at home, and Momo, a miniature golden doodle.
