João Gomes

João Marcelo de Castro Gomes is president of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – South America, a position he has held since joining the company in 2019.

Gomes is a highly experienced international business senior executive and a licensed veterinarian. He has a proven record of success in sales, marketing and management in the animal nutrition and health sectors of Brazil and Latin America. Throughout his career, Gomes has concentrated on sales growth, strategy development and execution, customer focus and production differentiation. Gomes also has a solid background in the mergers and acquisitions process and people development.

Throughout his career, Gomes has assumed different commercial, marketing, business development and management positions for several companies, including Bayer Animal Health, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Ceva Animal Health, Vallée S/A and Novus International. Most recently, he served as a general director at VetBR, one of the largest animal health and nutrition distributors in Brazil.

Gomes earned his degree in veterinary medicine from Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
