Nina Nurmi

Nina Nurmi has a diverse and extensive work experience. Nina is currently working as the VP, R&D and Technology, EMEA at Kemira since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at International Flavors & Fragrances from February 2021 to October 2022, where they held the position of Global Process R&D Leader, Specialty Carbohydrates & Emulsifiers. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing technology solutions for Specialty Carbohydrates and Emulsifiers globally, with an annual revenue of $650 million. Nina also oversaw new product development and innovation pipeline for the respective businesses.

Before their tenure at International Flavors & Fragrances, Nina worked at DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences for several years. Nina'sroles at DuPont included Global Manufacturing Technology Leader, Specialty Carbohydrates & Emulsifiers from March 2015 to February 2021. Nina was accountable for developing and implementing manufacturing technology solutions for Specialty Carbohydrates and Emulsifiers globally. Additionally, they supervised the Specialty Carbohydrates MT team located in Finland and the Emulsifiers MT team located in Denmark.

Nina Nurmi's prior experience at DuPont also includes roles as Group Manager, Industrial Chromatography from February 2002 to February 2015, where they led a team of 15 people and was responsible for development and optimization of industrial chromatography processes. Nina started their career at DuPont as a Research Engineer from January 2000 to January 2002, where they managed research projects and supervised technicians. Before that, they worked as an R&D Scientist from May 1996 to December 1999.

Nina Nurmi earned a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1991 to 1996. Nina also holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, they obtained a DuPont Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification in 2014.
