John Thorn

John Thorn has over 30 years of work experience in various industries. John started their career as an Applications Engineer at Megger, where they worked from 1985 to 1990. John then transitioned to the role of Technical Sales Representative at Megger, where they stayed until 1993.

After their time at Megger, Thorn joined Checkpoint Systems as the Senior Director of Product Management. John managed the product strategy and development process, as well as vendor partnerships and sales support. John held this position from 1993 to 1999.

Thorn then joined E Ink as the Senior Director of New Business Development. John was responsible for identifying and developing new markets for electronic ink technology. John stayed with E Ink from 1999 to 2002.

From 2002 to 2006, Thorn worked at Checkpoint Systems again, this time as the General Manager of the RFID Group. John built a team that designed, produced, and sold RFID tags, hardware, software, and professional services to various industries.

In 2007, Thorn founded Thorn LLC, a business development consulting firm. John provided services to technology companies in the Energy, Retail, and Consumer Products markets. John stayed with Thorn LLC until 2012.

Thorn then served as the Vice President of Marketing at FullTilt Software from 2007 to 2008. John was responsible for product re-positioning and executing the marketing communications plan.

Following their time at FullTilt Software, Thorn co-founded NetMark in 2008. John developed web-to-print ecommerce software applications that improved direct mail marketing for small and mid-sized companies. John left NetMark in 2013.

Most recently, Thorn became the Director of Customer Experience at The Kendall Group in 2021. The Kendall Group is an employee-owned company that aims to be the lowest cost and highest value wholesale supply partner.

Overall, Thorn has experience in various roles including business development, marketing, sales, and management in industries such as electrical distribution, technology, software, and consulting.

John Thorn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Marketing from West Chester University in the years 1985 to 1991. John later pursued an executive development program, graduating from Mahler in 2007. Prior to that, they completed a degree in Electronics and Computer Science from Northern Chester County Technical School between 1979 and 1982.
