Phil Galewitz is a seasoned health journalist with extensive experience in covering health policy and related issues. Since June 2009, Phil has served as a Senior Correspondent for KFF Health News, focusing on Medicaid, the uninsured, hospitals, and the Affordable Care Act, with contributions to major publications such as USA Today and The Washington Post. Prior to this role, Phil worked as a Senior Correspondent for Ale Street News from January 2011 to December 2018, covering the craft beer movement in Washington, D.C. Phil's career also includes positions as a health writer for The Palm Beach Post and as a health reporter for The Associated Press and The Patriot-News. In addition, Phil has contributed to the Association of Health Care Journalists as a board member and chair of the membership committee. Education includes a Master's in Public Administration with a focus on health policy from Penn State University Harrisburg and a Bachelor's of Science in Health Planning and Administration from Penn State University.
