Lukas Matthes has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Lukas began their career as an intern at AHK Argentina, where they gained insights into the German-Argentinian economic relations in the technology and innovation sector. Lukas then worked as a working student at Sixt rent a car, assisting with various tasks. Lukas also interned at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where they contributed to financial system development and insurances projects. Lukas later joined IMCOG GmbH as a working student, supporting office administration and assisting with scientific studies in the healthcare and public sectors. Lukas then transitioned to a research assistant role at the Start-up Office of Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen, providing support for entrepreneurship initiatives. Following this, they worked as a working student research analyst at KnowledgeAgent GmbH. Currently, Lukas serves as a graduate trainee in the Risk department at KfW IPEX-Bank, specializing in aviation, mobility, and transport.
Lukas Matthes pursued their higher education with a focus on economics. In 2012, they enrolled at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Angewandte Volkswirtschaftslehre in 2016. During this time, they also attended the University of Buenos Aires for a brief period in 2014-2015, where they pursued a Licentiate degree in Angewandte Volkswirtschaftslehre.
Continuing their academic journey, Lukas Matthes joined Heidelberg University in 2016 and completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics in 2019. In 2017, they briefly attended Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where they pursued a Master's degree in Economics.
In addition to their formal education, Lukas Matthes also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they acquired the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) from ETS Global B.V. In 2018, they obtained certifications in "Introduction to FinTech" from HKU FinTech and "IDB10-1x: Data for Effective Policy Making" from the Inter-American Development Bank. Finally, in 2019, they received the "certificado DELE nivel C1" from Instituto Cervantes.
