Michael Schinko P.Eng has a diverse work experience in the mining industry. Michael started their career as a Labourer at Mansour Mining Inc in 2008. Michael then worked as an Engineering Surveying Summer Student at the City of Greater in 2011. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Mining Engineer in Training I and II at Vale. Michael joined Vale again in 2015 and held positions as a Sandfill Planner/Short Range Production and Drill and Blast Planner. In 2018, they worked as a Short Range Underground Planner at Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. Michael returned to Vale in 2019 and served as a Senior Mining Engineer and later as the Chief Mine Engineer at Creighton Mine. In 2022, they joined SRK Consulting as a Senior Consultant (Mining), and in 2023, they became the Chief Mine Engineer at KGHM International.

Michael Schinko P.Eng obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Queen's University from 2007 to 2012. Michael also earned a B. Sc; B.A degree in Mining Engineering and Philosophy from Queens University during the same time period. In July 2019, Michael Schinko received certification from Professional Engineers Ontario. Michael obtained certifications in Mine Rescue First Aid from St. John's Ambulance in February 2014 and Introductory Mine Rescue Training from Workplace Safety North in January 2014. In June 2013, they acquired the Underground Hardrock Miner - Common Core certification from the Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.
