Kids Alive International
David Hoffner has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. David started their career in 1990 as a Retreat Coordinator and Wilderness Leader at Timber-lee Christian Center. David was responsible for facilitating rental group events, coordinating with groups, and handling various administrative tasks. Afterward, they worked as a Pastoral Resident at Elmbrook Church, where they assisted the Pastors of the Singles and Small Group ministries and coordinated volunteers for different activities.
In 1998, David joined Cedar Lake Ministries as a Retreat Director, overseeing reservations, contracts, and services for group rental events. David also managed the reception and housekeeping departments and handled the database software.
David joined White Lodging Services in 2011 as a Night Auditor, responsible for auditing and managing night operations. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at Kids Alive International, initially as a Financial Analyst. In this role, they were responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and software implementation. Later, they became the Director of Accounting, but specific details about this role were not provided.
Additionally, David had a brief stint as a Tax Intern at CliftonLarsonAllen in 2015, where they gained experience in tax-related tasks.
David Hoffner completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Urban Studies at St. Olaf College from 1978 to 1982. David continued their education at Trinity International University and obtained a Master of Divinity degree in Theology/Theological Studies from 1987 to 1991. Later, they pursued accounting and earned a Bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University from 2013 to 2015. In addition to their degrees, David also obtained certifications in Financial Edge NXT Fundamentals 2018 and Financial Edge Professional 2018 from Blackbaud.

All of the children in our care were orphaned, abandoned, or abused, living on the streets, and victims of poverty, disease, or war. Kids Alive rescues these children – one at a time – and enrolls them into one of our Children’s Homes, a Care Center, or School program that is best suited to the care they need. We are currently reaching children in 14 countries with the redeeming love of Christ.
