Brea Smith

Senior Director, Talent at KIPP Philadelphia Schools

Brea Smith is a native of Southern Jersey and a proud product of the public school system. She pursued her Bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College where she majored in Political Science. After completing her B.A., she went on to become a Jacksonville FL Teach For America Corp Member, as well as a TFA Philly Institute and TFA Phoenix Institute staff member.

Brea later received her M.A. in Educational Leadership, Politics & Advocacy from New York University. Her work experience spans across public schools, government agencies, and several non-profits. She has classroom experience ranging from 2nd to 11th grade, created a youth workforce development program for Atlanta’s City Council, supported the expansion of and created access to Pre-K services with the New York City Department of Education, founded experiential learning programs, developed dual enrollment opportunities and spearheaded partnerships with businesses to create career connected learning at 2 high schools within Philadelphia. Most recently, Brea was an Assistant Principal of Operations with IDEA Public Schools in Austin, TX. Now, she is excited to return to Philly and most importantly support the mission and values of KIPP Philadelphia.
