Alana Herbert has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alana started their career as a Resident Advisor at UC Irvine in 2014, where they created a positive living environment for freshman residents and facilitated various programs. In 2016, they worked as a Benefits Coordinator at American Golf Corporation, where they managed employee databases and collaborated with the payroll department. Since 2016, Alana has been with KIPP SoCal Public Schools, initially as a College Advisor Fellow and later transitioning to roles such as College Match Counselor, Alumni Impact Manager, and currently serving as the Postsecondary Match Manager of KIPP Forward. In these roles, they developed partnerships, solicited internships, and organized initiatives to increase college enrollment and completion for students. Overall, Alana has demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills throughout their career.
Alana Herbert attended UC Irvine from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Their fields of study included Urban Studies (Urban Planning) and Business Administration. In September 2020, they also obtained a certification in Introduction to Programming Using HTML, CSS and JavaScript from Nucamp Coding Bootcamp.
