Kevin McLaughlin has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Kevin started their career as an Internal Audit Intern at Anglo Irish Bank (International) in 2006. Kevin then joined Leinster Rugby in 2005 as a Professional Athlete and represented the team until 2015. Alongside their rugby career, they worked as a Trading Blogger at CMC Markets from 2011 to 2012 and as a Food and Lifestyle columnist at Irish Independent from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, they took on the role of Leinster Player Representative at IRUPA, where they facilitated communication between players and the Player Development Manager and participated in developing the PDM program for Leinster. From 2013 to 2018, they served as a Non-Executive Director at ARC Cancer Support, leveraging their profile as a professional rugby player to bring publicity to the organization and successfully campaigned for ARC to become an associated charity of Leinster. Finally, since 2016, Kevin has been working at Kitman Labs, initially as VP Operations, responsible for maintaining standards and creating a high-performance environment, and currently as VP Partnership Success, focused on supporting professional sports teams in reducing injury risk and optimizing athlete performance.

Kevin McLaughlin obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce, General from University College Dublin, graduating in 2007. Prior to that, they completed their High School education at Gonzaga College, from 1997 to 2003.

In 2009, Kevin received the Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) certification from the Life Assurance Institute (LIA), which they acquired in 2011. Following this, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning at University College Dublin from 2011 to 2013.

Continuing their education, Kevin completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Financial Planning and Services from University College Dublin, concluding their studies in 2015.

Beyond their formal education, Kevin acquired additional certification in June 2022, specifically in the course "Leading Your Org on a Journey of Allyship" from LinkedIn.
