Global Head of Brand Strategy at Klarna

Amanda Calvo has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. At Time Out, they held the position of Online Editor & Editorial Projects Manager from September 2011 to September 2012, where they built and managed the online edition of Time Out Beirut. Amanda also worked as a Freelance Copy Editor at Al-Monitor from September 2011 to January 2012. At the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, they worked as a Communications Assistant from July 2011 to September 2011, assisting in the implementation of communication strategies and coordinating high-profile events.

Amanda Calvo has a diverse education history. In 1998-2004, they attended Washington International School (WIS) where they obtained a high school degree in Bilingual English/Spanish I.B. From 2004-2005, they attended Saint George School where they completed the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) program. In 2006, they participated in the Young Women's Leadership Institute at Barnard College. From 2005-2007, they attended UWC Atlantic College. In 2007, they enrolled at Smith College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Eastern Studies and English Language and Literature, completing it in 2011. In 2010-2011, they also attended the University of Jordan, focusing on Arabic and Middle Eastern History. Later, in 2012-2013, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Politics and Communication at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Additionally, Amanda earned a certification in The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing from Google Digital Garage in July 2020.
