Senior Data Scientist / Analytics Manager @ First Party Fraud at Klarna

Michael Troyanovsky has a range of work experience in the field of data science and fraud prevention. Michael currently works at Klarna as a Data Scientist and Analytics Manager in the Global Fraud Data Science team. In this role, they are responsible for managing fraud in the UK, Southern Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team.

Prior to this, Michael held the position of Team Lead for Fraud Strategy Market Expansion at Klarna, where they were accountable for managing fraud in various markets and leading a team. Michael also worked as a Senior Data Analyst at Klarna, focusing on fraud attack response in the German, Austrian, and Netherland markets. During this time, they developed methodologies for detecting fraud and created a python-based post-purchase system known as the Fraud Outlier Detection System.

Before joining Klarna, Michael was a Fraud Data Analyst in a task force team responsible for discovering and mitigating fraud attacks. Michael implemented policy changes and worked with other teams to ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers.

Michael's earlier experience includes working as a Junior Fraud Agent at Klarna, where they manually reviewed high-risk transactions and developed strong pattern recognition abilities. Michael also completed a Master's thesis on predicting fraudulent transactions using machine learning algorithms and gained experience as a Tutor at Studybuddy AB.

Outside of their data science career, Michael worked as a Store Clerk at ICA and completed an internship at SCB, Statistiska centralbyrån.

Michael Troyanovsky completed their education at different institutions. Michael started with a natural science program at Östra gymnasium from 2008 to 2011. Later, they pursued their bachelor's degree in statistics at Stockholm University, which they completed from 2012 to 2015. Subsequently, they went on to earn a master's degree in statistics from Stockholm University, concluding their studies in 2018. The specific field of study for both degrees is not provided.
