Roland Yeghiazaryan

Roland Yeghiazaryan has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Roland is currently working at Klarna as a Lead Engineer, a role they have held since May 2023. Before that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer, Android, App Core at Klarna from January 2022 to May 2023.

Prior to joining Klarna, Roland worked at Stocard - Your Mobile Wallet as a Senior Software Engineer, Android from October 2020 to December 2022. Stocard joined Klarna in 2022 and is known for revolutionizing how people shop, pay, and access financial services.

Before Stocard, Roland was an Android Tech Lead, Growth at SoloLearn from June 2019 to April 2020. SoloLearn is an online and mobile learning platform that offers free coding classes and community features. Roland played a crucial role in the development of the SoloLearn Android app and implemented various technical improvements and features.

From 2012 to 2019, Roland worked at Armsoft, initially as an Android Engineer from July 2012 to March 2016, and later as a Lead Android Engineer from April 2016 to May 2019. Armsoft is a leading Armenian IT company with a focus on Android development. Roland led the Android development of the "AS Sales Management" project, initiated Kotlin migration, and introduced Agile (Scrum/Kanban) practices.

Roland also has teaching experience. Roland worked as a Computer Science Instructor at Russian - Armenian University from September 2015 to January 2018, where they taught the course "Introduction to Mobile Application Development using Android." Roland also served as a Computer Science Instructor at Yerevan State University from September 2016 to June 2017, teaching courses on Java programming and object-oriented programming using C#.

Additionally, Roland worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Android Bootcamp at Tumo Center for Creative Technologies in summer 2014. Roland provided support for an intensive 12-week summer bootcamp focused on Android development.

Earlier in their career, Roland worked as an Android Developer at Aragast LLC and as a Web Development Intern at Synergy International Systems in 2011.

Throughout their career, Roland has acquired a strong skill set in technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Android Jetpack, Retrofit, Firebase, Git, Gradle, and various tools and frameworks. Roland has demonstrated proficiency in leading projects, implementing technical improvements, and teaching computer science and mobile development courses.

Roland Yeghiazaryan obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from the Russian - Armenian University from 2008 to 2012. Roland then pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Science at the same university from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Roland has obtained several certifications. In November 2013, they received the "Querying MS SQL Server 2012 (70-461)" certification from Microsoft. In November 2014, they obtained the "Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer" certification from Oracle. Roland followed this up in November 2015 with the "Android Certified Application Developer" certification from Android ATC. In January 2017, Roland became a "Google Street View Trusted Photographer" certified by Google. Roland'smost recent certification was in August 2020 when they became a "Triplebyte Certified Android Engineer" from Triplebyte.
