Gerard Rubio has been working in the technology industry since 2008. In that year, they co-founded blablabLAB, where they developed, sourced, and assembled 3D printers on-demand, and taught workshops on how to assemble 3D printers from scratch, use them, and hack them. In 2015, they became the CEO and Founder of Kniterate. In 2016, they joined SOSV as a HAX VIII.
Gerard Rubio obtained an Associate's Degree in Photographic and Film/Video Technology/Technician and Assistant from ITES in 2002-2004. Gerard then attended CECC Centre de Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Film Direction from 2005-2008. From 2010-2014, they attended Universitat Ramon Llull and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Media Design. In 2014-2015, they were an Honorary Research Associate in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at UCL. In 2016, Gerard Rubio was part of Class 8 at the HAX accelerator. In December 2021, they obtained a certification in Startup Finance from The Startup CFO Academy.
