Peter Martin

Data Scientist at KoBold Metals

Peter is a data scientist and geochemist interested in the intersection of programming and geoscience. His background is in studying the long-term climate history of Earth and Mars using geochemical data, in particular through geochronology and thermochronology. He has also participated in the development of new instrumentation for Mars rovers, written software for data reduction, and studied the history of iron ore formation in the United States and Australia.

Prior to joining the team at KoBold metals, Peter received a bachelor’s degree in Earth Science and Chemistry from Wesleyan University in 2014 and a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from Caltech in 2020. Following his Ph.D., he spent two years as a postdoctoral scholar at CU Boulder.
