Thibaut Astic

Thibaut is a geophysicist and data scientist that specializes in combining machine learning and physics simulations to simultaneously and quantitatively analyze multiple data types and produce enhanced 3D geological interpretations for resource exploration.

Before joining KoBold, he worked in geological mapping and geophysical data acquisition and processing companies. More recently, he completed a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, BC, Canada), where he developed innovative algorithms for multi-physics subsurface imaging.

His combined industry and academic experiences have placed him at the intersection of geology, geophysics, and data science. He has authored or co-authored more than a dozen scientific publications.
