Lead Data Analyst (f/m/d) As a Lead Game Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our games' success by leveraging data insights to drive strategic decisions across game design, player behavior analysis, and monetization strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our games remain competitive and captivating in the dynamic gaming industry landscape.

We have ambitious plans around growth and the data team is integral to our success, directly impacting our key decisions.  As the Lead Data Analyst, you will lead a team of data analysts and spearhead our data efforts in Product, User Acquisition and monetization, leveraging data to drive decisions and strategies that significantly boost our performance and revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Utilize exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to interpret complex game telemetry data and identify actionable insights.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and executive leadership, presenting data-driven recommendations to drive informed decision-making.
  • Champion a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting data literacy and empowering team members to leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic initiatives.
  • Work with the Data Engineering team to help direct their efforts and be the key communicator between the main stakeholders in the company requiring data
  • Drive experimentation and A/B testing initiatives to evaluate the impact of game changes on player behavior, monetization, and engagement.
  • Analyze player retention and churn rates, identifying opportunities to enhance player experiences and maximize long-term value.
  • Collaborate with Product Leads and Head of Growth to influence product development and strategies by gaining insights through analysis of patterns, relationships and trends across complex data sets, directly impacting the company and game revenue.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, leveraging advanced understanding of game monetization and marketing strategies to maintain a competitive edge, as well as, digital marketing environment and marketing measuring frameworks.
  • Build and monitor predictive models that will help daily Product, User Acquisition and Monetization decisions.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis in the gaming industry.
  • Proven experience managing a team, having exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Experience with real-time data analysis for live operations in games.
  • Ability to write complex queries using languages such as SQL
  • Experience using Python, BI tools such as Looker or similar
  • Previous experience with AB testing
  • Advanced understanding of game monetization and marketing strategies as well as key gaming industry KPIs and metrics
  • Games industry experience with a strong understanding of the game and player market
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in addressing complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Desirable skills

  • Proficiency in additional programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, etc.).
  • Advanced understanding of game monetization and marketing strategies or game industry pattern
  • Experience with Product Data Science, including but not limited to Churn Prediction, LTV.
  • An applied understanding of Player Psychology and/or Economics.
  • Familiarity with dbt or similar data modeling tools.
