Hiroyuki Ogawa

Hiroyuki Ogawa is the current President, CEO, and Representative Director at Komatsu. Hiroyuki has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry.

Ogawa began their career as a tax manager at Arthur Andersen in 1982. Hiroyuki later became a director and senior manager in the tax department where they handled M&A, restructuring, acquisition, and disposition transactions. In 1995, they left Arthur Andersen to become a project director for a real estate development company. There, they were in charge of overall plan of land development for 3800 acres. This included luxury homes, golf courses, and equestrian facilities.

In 1998, Ogawa became the CFO for a real estate developer where they managed the development of a 300-unit condominium, a regional shopping center, a leasing of office building, a five-star resort hotel, and an LPG golf course. Hiroyuki remained in this position until 2002 when they joined Komatsu.

At Komatsu, Ogawa has held various positions including Executive Officer, Managing Executive Officer, and Executive Vice President. In 2013, they were appointed as the President and CEO. Under their leadership, Komatsu has become one of the largest construction equipment manufacturers in the world with over 60,000 employees.

Some direct reports include Ichiro Nakano - President, Hensley Industries, Inc., Yasuo Suzuki - Vice President, Production Division, and Chikashi Shike - President, Smart Construction Promotion Division.
