Joel Hazel

Joel Hazel serves as the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Kootenai Health since December 2022. Prior to this role, Joel Hazel was a Partner and Attorney at Witherspoon•Kelley from 1999 to December 2022, contributing as a Board Member and General Counsel. Joel Hazel began their legal career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Kootenai County from December 1994 to May 1999, where responsibilities included handling cases from DUIs to major narcotics crimes and multiple First Degree Murder jury trials. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law (1994) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Gonzaga University (1990).
