Matthew Jones

Matthew Jones has a diverse work history spanning several industries. Matthew started their career as a Research Associate at Durham University, where they focused on studying the allosteric binding cooperativity of proteins and simulating DNA dynamics. Matthew then pursued a PhD at the same institution, researching charge generation and separation dynamics in organic photovoltaic materials. After completing their PhD, Matthew joined Boise State University as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, where they developed computational tools to study the self-assembly properties of organic semiconducting materials. In 2019, they transitioned to the industry and started working at Kount, an Equifax Company. Matthew initially joined as a Data Scientist, leveraging machine learning algorithms to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions. Matthew quickly advanced to the role of Senior Data Scientist and later became the Manager of AI Science. Currently, they serve as the Director of AI Science at Kount, leading a team of data scientists and making strategic decisions regarding research, products, and customer support. Throughout their career, Matthew has demonstrated excellence as an individual contributor and remains up-to-date with the latest technology and management trends in the industry.

Matthew Jones attended Frodsham School, a Science and Technology College from 2001 to 2006, where they completed their GCSEs. Matthew then attended Helsby 6th Form College from 2006 to 2008, where they pursued A-levels in Physics, Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and General Studies. Finally, from 2008 to 2012, Matthew studied at Durham University, where they obtained an MPhys degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics.
