Lead Security Engineer at Kount

Matthew Kunzman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Matthew currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Boise State University, starting in January 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Kount from May 2019, where they held the role of Lead Security Engineer, specializing in application and product security engineering. Matthew'sresponsibilities included cloud security, containerization security, software testing, development design, developer training, and pentesting.

Before joining Kount, Matthew was employed at Clearwater Analytics from October 2010 to April 2019. During their tenure, they held multiple roles, including Lead Security Analyst, Security Analyst, and Automation Engineer. Matthew'sexpertise included security analysis, automation, and serving as a security resource to cross-functional teams.

Matthew's earlier experience includes working at Micron Technology as an Engineering Technician from March 1999 to November 2010. In this role, they focused on application and system programming, as well as project coordination.

Additionally, Matthew served as the Webmaster for the Boise State University student radio station "The Pulse" from March 2008 to March 2009. Matthew was responsible for fixing and automating the website, enabling maintenance by radio staff members.

Matthew's earliest work experience includes working as a Graphic Artist at the Malheur Enterprise, a weekly newspaper, where they handled graphic artwork, developed ads, created tables, maintained subscription databases, and more from 1996 to 1998.

Matthew Kunzman completed their education in a chronological manner. In 1996, they attended Treasure Valley Community College and received an A.A. degree in Psychology in 1998. In 2006, they enrolled in Boise State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology Management with a Software Development Emphasis in 2010. More recently, from 2020 to 2021, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University.

In addition to their formal education, Matthew Kunzman has obtained several certifications. In 2015, they became a Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) through (ISC)². In 2016, they earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² and also became a Logrhythm Certified Professional through LogRhythm. Furthermore, in 2019, they obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council and the GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification from GIAC Certifications.
