James van Dyne

James Van Dyne is an experienced software engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Software Engineering at Kraken since October 2021, where contributions include efforts to de-carbonize the Japanese electricity grid. Prior roles include Lead Software Engineer and Senior Backend Developer at Kraken, as well as a Full-stack Developer at BePROUD Inc. from May 2017 to September 2021. James is also the founder of Sugoi Software, dedicated to transforming ideas into applications primarily for OS X, iOS, or the web. Earlier experience includes teaching business English as a substitute ALT at Interac and developing a web-based media library checkout system at Texas State University. James holds degrees in International Studies, focusing on Asian Studies, Geography, Japanese, International Relations, and History from Texas State University and Meiji Gakuin University.
