Kripalu Yoga Teacher at Kripalu

Lisa Jakub started their career in the entertainment industry as an actor in 1983, working in various film and television shows for 18 years until their retirement in 2001. After retiring, they pursued a career in wellness and mindfulness. In 2017, they became a certified yoga teacher at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, specializing in trauma-sensitive yoga for veterans with post-traumatic stress. Lisa also offered private classes and workshops on yoga and writing, as well as yoga for anxiety relief. In 2014, Lisa published a book called "108 Crows" and took on roles as a guest speaker, workshop leader, teacher, and contributing writer. In 2021, they founded their own company, Blue Mala, as CEO. Lisa further expanded their offerings for veterans by founding another nonprofit organization called Mission Flexible in 2022, where they serve as the Founder and Director, providing fully funded retreats for veterans with post-traumatic stress.

Lisa Jakub attended the University of Virginia from 2007 to 2010 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. In addition to their formal education, they have also completed several certifications. In 2017, they completed a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. In 2019, they furthered their yoga expertise by completing a 300 Hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training at the Glenmore Yoga & Wellness Center. Lisa'smost recent certification is in Mindful Resilience for Compassion Fatigue, awarded by the Veterans Yoga Project in 2020.
