Angela Wakelin

Angela Wakelin has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 33 years. Angela began their career as a Bank Manager at NatWest in 1987, where they worked for 15 years. In 2002, they joined the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, initially as part of the Corporate & Commercial Banking team and later as Director of Risk Service & Operations for Business Banking. Their tenure at RBS lasted for 6 years until 2008.

In 2008, Angela joined Banco Santander and held various leadership roles over an 8-year period. Angela started as Director of Risk, Service & Operations for Santander Corporate Banking and then transitioned into the role of Director, Product Office. From there, they became the Transformation Director and eventually assumed the position of Managing Director for Operations & Control. Angela remained with Banco Santander until 2016.

Following their time at Banco Santander, Angela Wakelin joined Shawbrook Bank as the Chief Operations Officer in 2016. Their role there lasted for 3 years, until 2019.
